Assembly New York goes for gold

The who:
Fashion-forward darlings stood around the silver-streamed stage at Meatpacking’s Industria Superstudio.

The what:
This Manhattan-based label is well-known around the Lower East Side scene for their minimalist attire, but this season, designer Greg Armas was feeling a bit more futuristic. Yes, the collection was similarly streamlined, but the clothing had a major tech-influenced vibe going on, which made sense considering the collection was entitled “Extreme Sports.” The models fit physiques showed off the scuba-like crop tops and high-waisted briefs, and not to mention the body-con tank dresses. Floral blazers, apron dresses and skorts were also shown. The use of brass chokers and sci-fi reflective lenses truly affirmed the sporty space-age theme.

The highlight:
An epic black-and-white ying yang t-shirt was indeed a crowd-pleaser. Plus, we long for a pair of the white leather pointy-toed booties.

The takeaway:
Extreme sports may not be your forte, but nonetheless, Armas’s clothing will make you feel like a champ.
