Fan backlash over ‘Fifty Shades’ duo

“Fifty Shades of Grey” fans are whipping up a storm of outrage over the yet-to-be-shot movie’s choice of leading actors.

An online petition demanding that producers dump Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam has picked up more than 26,000 virtual signatures.

The petition, posted through change.org, calls for Johnson and Hunnam to be cut in favor of “Magic Mike” actor Matt Bomer and “Gilmore Girls” star Alexis Bledel.

“Fifty Shades” author E.L. James announced the casting picks on Monday, touching off a backlash.

“Because [lead character] Christian [Grey] is supposed to be sexy and mysterious. Charlie Hunnam looks dirty and very unappealing,” wrote one petition supporter, who identified herself as Corrine Pollard, of Carmi, Ill.

Hunnam is best known for his work in the biker drama “Sons of Anarchy,” while Johnson — the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith — was on the Fox sitcom “Ben and Kate.”
