Jealous ex convicted for raping and stabbing baby mama

A jealous ex-boyfriend was convicted today for the vicious rape and stabbing of his baby’s mother — on two separate occasions — which left her paralyzed for eight months.

Daniel Paguay, 21, remained stone-faced as the forewoman read “guilty” on the top charge of attempted murder and “guilty” for the forcible rape of his 19-year-old victim.

Paguay faces 50 years in prison when he is sentenced by Queens Supreme Court Justice Kenneth C. Holder later this month.

“I’m not worried, because there is an appeal,” said Paguay’s mother, Blanca — though a Spanish interpreter — who attended everyday of the 16-day trial and believes the victim was “forced to testify.”

Paguay, then 19, and his victim, then 17, broke up a month after she gave birth to their son, Jaden, when doubts of paternity arose.

“He said he wanted me to feel the same pain he was feeling,” said the victim who tearfully testify that Paguay stabbed her in the thigh before he raped her in his mother’s basement on April 20, 2011.

Paguay was charged and issued an order of protection by a Queens judge.

He put up $25,000 bail and was released.

“He knew he had to stay away from [her]. He admitted to violating the judge’s order. He doesn’t respecting the law,” said Queens Assistant District Attorney Frank DeGaetano during his closing arguments.

Weeks later, Paguay broke into the young woman’s home on June 20, 2011 and forced her by knifepoint out of the house to go to court with him.

As Paguay dragged the woman through the streets of Corona with the knife, in tow, sanitation workers called the police and his cousin, Gabriel Calle, tried to intervene.

The madman was found not guilty for stabbing Calle — prosecutors claimed they couldn’t find him to testify.

Moments later as officers attempted to apprehend Paguay inside of a Fine Fare Supermarket, he stabbed the woman in the back three times.

“I don’t know what happened, I must have blacked out,” said Paguay as he testified on his own behalf.

“She couldn’t walk for months, she will feel her hatred for him with every step she takes,” said DeGaetano.

The victim is expected to give a victim impact statement at the sentencing.
