Police: Armed man barricaded in Trenton home

TRENTON, N.J. — Police say an armed man has barricaded himself inside a Trenton home.

Trenton Police Lt. Mark Kieffer says police were called to the home in South Trenton around 2:30 p.m. Friday on reports of a barricaded suspect.

Kieffer says police entered the home and found the man brandishing a gun. The police retreated from the home and a perimeter was established around the home. A SWAT team and police negotiators have been called in.

The man remained barricaded inside the home Friday night. Kieffer said negotiators were speaking to the man. No other details were released.

Homes on the surrounding block have been evacuated as a precaution.
