Jack back? ‘24’ reboot possible

Jack Bauer and “24” could live to see another TV series.

Howard Gordon, who executive-produced the iconic Fox show — starring Kiefer Sutherland as terrorist-fighting tough guy Jack Bauer — is shopping around a limited-edition run of the “24” to Fox, according to a report in deadline.com.

Sutherland, who won an Emmy for his portrayal of Bauer, would star in the revived version — now that his recent Fox series, “Touch,” has been cancelled after two seasons.

“24” aired its last episode in 2010 after eight seasons on Fox. The series was a trendsetter, in that each episode unraveled in real time — with a corresponding on-screen clock ticking down the nail-biting minutes as Jack Bauer foiled terrorists and saved the world from destruction season after season.

The rebooted “24” would, once again, be executive-produced by Gordon, who is also the executive producer of TNT’s “Legends” and the FX pilot, “Tyrant.”

Onetime “24” executive producer David Fury, who’s working on “Tyrant,” said on Twitter that he’ll work on both that show and “24” (if it gets the go-ahead).

A big-screen movie version of “24” was broached even before the series went off the air — but plans for that have never come to fruition.
