Chemistry Kit

The spontaneity that’s defined “Access Hollywood Live” co-hosts Billy Bush and Kit Hoover has paid handsome dividends for NBC.

“AH Live” has been a boon for Ch. 4, particularly this season, where it’s notched its best ratings in four years at 11 a.m.

Hoover and Bush will be here May 6-10 when “AH Live” leaves LA for its annual trip to Manhattan and a week of live shows airing from the Plaza at 30 Rock.

And while Hoover says she “hates” the word “chemistry” to define her relationship with Bush, she takes great pride in how they interact — chalking this up to the fact she doesn’t see Bush until he steps onto the set to start the show.

“From Day One it’s been instant camaraderie with Billy,” says Hoover, who’s in her third season on “AH Live.” “I think it’s because we’re so similar. We’re around the same age — I’m older — we both have three kids and at the core we both have this kind of fun, naughty factor where we like to stir it up a bit.

“Half of what we do is trying to make each other laugh.”

Hoover, 42, says she’d love to see “AH Live” incorporate musical acts and a live audience into the show’s format. “That would be so fabulous,” she says. “Right now [in LA] it’s just the crew. It’s my dream for the show to be more relatable with our audience.”

She also says she’s not looking to move beyond morning TV.

“I can’t act. I mean, let’s know our limitations,” she says. “I’m a one-trick pony. I’m 42 and happy to be with my kids and to be doing a morning show.

“The weirdest thing is that without my three kids I could be really successful,” she says, laughing.
