Dom Tiberi, a local Ohio sports anchor, tragically lost his 21-year-old daughter, Maria, in a car accident on Sept. 17.
Maria, a student at Ohio State, was honored before the Buckeyes’ game against Florida A&M a few days later with a moment of silence, and it wasn’t until Thursday that Dom Tiberi was able to come back to work.
Upon his return to the air, an emotional Tiberi spoke of how touched he was by the words and gestures from family, friends and the school.
Maria’s memory was honored once more on Saturday after Ohio State’s win over Wisconsin, with the entire Buckeyes team stopping to hug Tiberi and offer their condolences on their way to the locker room.
