$100M penthouse rising near United Nations

LAPS OF LUXURY
Talk about making a splash! A new $100 million penthouse is rising near the United Nations — with its own private pool, revealed in this exclusive photo. The sprawling 15,597-square-foot triplex penthouse at the Norman Foster-designed 50 UN Plaza will have 14 bedrooms, 13 full bathrooms, a fireplace and 1,500 square feet of outdoor space, with a 10,000-pound stainless-steel staircase leading to the infinity-edge pool. The penthouse will be at the top of the 43-story luxury building developed by Zeckendorf Development, of 15 Central Park West, and Eyal Ofer’s Global Holdings; it is the first residential building in the US designed by Foster + Partners. Prices of condos will start at $2.5 million and the building is slated for completion in December 2014.

GO CHASING WATERFALLS
The Waterfall Mansion at 170 E. 80th St. is back on the market. It’s now asking $39 million, up from its $31 million asking price last year, and is now listed with Trump International Realty. The mansion is a former carriage house owned by financier/developer Kate Shin. This 10,800-square-foot townhouse covers five floors, and comes with a 23-foot-high waterfall which cascades down a stone wall. There’s also a garden off the master suite and a 1,000-bottle wine cellar — along with professional gallery space. Word is that the art of Edwina Sandys, the granddaughter of Sir Winston Churchill, will be showcased there at a private event tonight. Sandys’ SoHo loft, as Gimme Shelter recently exclusively reported, is also for sale, asking $9.5 million.

WE HEAR…
That Barbara Corcoran will be speaking at Martha Stewart’s Second Annual American Made Awards & Program Oct. 15 to 17.

CITY HAAL
Jake Gyllenhaal is the latest celebrity who’s house-hunting this fall. He recently looked at a 3,000-square-foot, four-bedroom, 4½-bathroom loft duplex at 137 Franklin St. The TriBeCa co-op, asking $6.2 million, comes with a fireplace, private elevator and radiant heat white oak floors. Sadly for Jake, an out-of-town family has swooped in to buy the place. Town’s Andrew Azoulay represented the seller while Town’s Claudia and Mark Fromm represented the buyer.

‘SOLO’ IN NOLA
Singer/songwriter and fashion icon Solange Knowles, who also happens to be Beyoncé’s baby sis, has been spending more time in New Orleans. Now her former apartment, at 374 Union St. in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, is for rent. The two-bedroom — plus a den — is asking $4,200 a month. There’s nothing fancy or “done” about the space when you look at the photos, but it is roomy, with light. Anthony Lolli, founder of Rapid Realty, is representing the listing along with Shaheem Ivory. Lolli recently won the Golden Bridge Award for Entrepreneur of the Year.
