First Super Bowl forecast: Low of 18 and ‘chance’ of snow

Since we all know the weatherman never makes a mistake, it looks as if Super Sunday is safe.

Accuweather.com’s 45-day forecaster has come in range of Feb. 2, 2014, the date of Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, the site of the first outdoor, cold-weather championship game since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970.

The forecast calls for a high of 36 degrees, a low of 18 and a “chance” for a snow shower.

Accuweather’s dedicated Super Bowl site, WillItSnow.com — yes, this is a thing — pegs it as a 31 percent chance of snowfall.
