Bronx teacher accused of raping 10-year-old after he told her she was receiving an award

A Bronx teacher allegedly raped one of his female students after telling the child’s parents he was taking her to receive an award, police sources said.

Anthony Criscuolo, a teacher at P.S. 386 in Fordham Heights, allegedly wrote a letter on official school letterhead telling the 10-year-old victim’s parents she was set to receive some kind of academic award, police sources said.

The parents consented to let Criscuolo take the girl to the award presentation on Monday. Only there was no ceremony, and he instead raped her, police sources said.

The Bronx Special Victims Squad opened an investigation after the victim’s mother found sexually detailed emails between her daughter and the teacher.

Criscuolo was arrested this morning and charged with rape in the second degree.
