Ax-wielding thugs dressed in burqas smash ritzy London store before dramatic motorcycle escape

Thugs wearing burqas stormed top London department store Selfridges last night and grabbed a fortune in designer watches.

Six bandits armed with axes and sledgehammers smashed display cabinets in the jewelry section of the famed Oxford Street shop.

They grabbed $15,600 in watches and gems as staff and customers scattered in terror.

The gang then sped off on mopeds with their flowing black garments flapping in the wind — but one bike skidded and crashed, dumping two of the robbers on the road.

The pair, one pretending the other was his injured “wife”, were caught by witnesses.
