A retired federal agent fired shots at two burglars when he returned to his Queens home and found the men inside, sources said.
The retired Department of Homeland Security agent opened fire at around 2:30 p.m. when he realized the men had burglarized his Somerset Street home in Jamaica Estates, sources said.
The thieves fled. It was not clear whether or not the men stole anything from the house, sources said.
Police are still investigating.
