Marie Osmond’s show cancelled after one season

Hallmark Channel has cancelled Marie Osmond’s talk show, “Marie,” after one season.

“Marie,” which premiered last fall, had an up-and-down ratings history and never quite broke through with viewers, though it had its moments.

The show will continue airing new episodes through mid-August (Monday-Thursday at noon, with a 1 p.m. repeat) and will then go into repeats

Hallmark Channel will replace “Marie” on its schedule with a new show on Sept. 28.

Insiders say the network is moving to a more “pure lifestyle” programming format, rather than the celebrity talk show format of “Marie,” which Osmond juggled while continuing to appear in concert, on her own and with her brother, Donny Osmond.

“We are extremely grateful to Marie Osmond, whose immense talent and dedication to excellence is unmatched in entertainment,” the network said in a statement.

“Marie is a consummate professional and outstanding human being in every way possible. We have enjoyed working with her on the talk show and know her passion to create an offering of such high quality will find great success in syndication.”

“Marie,” which was nominated for a Critics Choice Award, was introduced last fall along with “Home & Family,” which has been renewed.
