Germany is to officially protest to Indonesia over a Nazi-themed cafe with a giant picture of Hitler, swastikas and waiters in SS uniforms.

The Soldier’s Cafe, in the city of Bandung, is named after a Nazi hangout in occupied Paris during World War II.

Owner Henry Mulyana — who hopes to open another branch in Bali — said he was not surprised to be branded a “bad guy”.

But he added: “I don’t idolize Hitler, I simply adore the soldiers’ paraphernalia.”

Mulyana insists that his cafe is popular among Europeans — including Germans — with one photographed on its Facebook page wearing a red swastika T-shirt.
