Former Knicks guard Nate lands with Nuggets on two-year deal: report

Nate Robinson has found his next NBA home.

The flashy 5′ 9 eight-year veteran signed a two-year, $4 million deal with the Nuggets, according to the Denver Post. He will presumably play behind starter Ty Lawson and compete with Andre Miller for the back up job.

Robinson, 29, starred with the Knicks from 2005-2010 but quickly worked his way into head coach Mike D’Antoni’s dog house, who was unhappy with his turnovers and hectic style of play. Robinson was traded to the Celtics in February 2010, and the Knicks never made the playoffs in his tenure, although he did win three Slam Dunk titles (2006, 2008, 2010).

His time in Boston didn’t go as planned, scoring under seven points per game, and he was traded to the Thunder in 2011 before being waived the next season. Robinson was then signed by the Warriors averaging 11.2 points per game in 51 games, before having a resurgence this past season.

Appearing in all 82 games, starting 23 for the Bulls, Robinson averaged 13.1 points per game during the regular season and had an impressive playoff run (17.1 points per game) with Derrick Rose sidelined with a torn ACL.

He scored 23 points in the fourth quarter of Game 4 against the Nets in the first round, giving the Bulls a 3-1 series lead, en route to a seven-game series victory. He was just as impressive in the Conference Quarterfinals against the Heat, although the Bulls were ousted in five games.
