Mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner admitted today he had another extended, raunchy online sexual relationship with a young woman — just months after resigning in disgrace from Congress in a sexting scandal.

But he won’t be dropping out of the race. And his wife, Huma Abedin, is standing by him.

In a hasty scheduled joint press conference Abedin, Weiner said he will forge ahead with the campaign despite the latest sex scandal.

Weiner insisted that Huma knew all the details of the new revelations and insisted it’s “behind” them.

Abedin, sometimes looking uncomfortable and stiff, stood by her husband.

“I love him. I forgiven him. I believe in him,” she said.

Abedein said it took a lot of “hard work” and a “lot of therapy” to save their marriage after the sexting scandal.

Thedirty.com reported that Weiner used an anonymous handle — “Carlos Danger” — and exchanged sexually explicit photos and XXX-online sex with the 22-year-old young woman for six months.

The Web site also ran the blurred image of the woman (below left). It was later matched by Buzzfeed.com to an image of a woman whom it identified as “progressive activist” Sydney Leathers of Indiana.

Hours after the lurid chats were posted, Weiner issued a statement confirming that some of the details “are true” — and apologized.

Sources who know Weiner well said there was a tell-tale sign in the chats that gave him away: he talked about his one-eyed cat.

“Anthony Weiner is up to his old tricks again. I’ve been in contact with a young woman who wishes to remain Anonymous. She was lured by Anthony Weiner post scandal via Facebook. They had a relationship for six months and she believed they were in love,” the Web site said.

“Anthony Weiner like a true sex predator promised Anonymous many things like a job at Politico and a condo in Chicago (a place they could meet up and have sex). The relationship consisted of Anthony Weiner and Anonymous sending sexually explicit pictures of each other and having sexual conversations via phone. The best part was Anthony used an alias this time thinking this would protect him.”

The site said Weiner used the pseudonym “Carlos Danger” and the username Dangr33 when he would “email pictures of his penis via Yahoo. Which makes me believe Anonymous wasn’t the only girl he was working.”

The posts include X-rated exchanges.

The woman, using the handle “Anonymous” said of Weiner, “The part that’s most annoying is that I was 22 years old and in a bad place, but if anyone asked him he would say the same thing about himself, yet he’s an adult.”

“This was a bad situation for me because I really admired him. Even post scandal, I thought he was misunderstood. Until I got to know him. I thought Ioved him. Pretty pathetic.”

The woman said last August Weiner he offered to help get her a condo in Chicago.

The woman, who requested that her identity be protected, said she wanted to expose Weiner as a creep.

“I’ll send screen shots of everything. I’m trusting you keep my name out of it, because like I said, it was obviously a mistake. I was young and dumb. I just want people to really know he’s lying when he acts like he has changed.”

In another chat using his real name, Weiner asks the woman, “do me a solid. can you hard delete all our chat here.”

“Yes I can,” Anonymous responds.

Apparently not!

At one point, Weiner (Dangr33) said, “I’m deeply flawed.”

Weiner got his jollies off during or after the time he visited a therapist to stop his steamy online virtual sex with anonymous women — behind the back of his wife, Huma Abedin.

After announcing his candidacy for mayor, Weiner also warned that other online sex-exchanges with other women might surface.

“I said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, and today they have. As I have said in the past, these things that I did were wrong and hurtful to my wife and caused us to go through challenges in our marriage that extended past my resignation from Congress ,” Weiner said in a statement.

“While some things that have been posted today are true and some are not, there is no question that what I did was wrong. This behavior is behind me.”

“I’ve apologized to Huma and am grateful that she has worked through these issues with me and for her forgiveness. I want to again say that I am very sorry to anyone who was on the receiving end of these messages and the disruption that this has caused. As my wife and I have said, we are focused on moving forward.”

The statement indicated that Weiner would press on, rather than abort his mayoral candidacy.
