A Connecticut man shot three women to death in an apartment building before walking outside with a 13-month-old baby in his arms and then fatally shooting himself, cops said.
The killings took place Saturday night in the town of Manchester, which is near Hartford.
Officers alerted by 911 callers who’d heard gunshots showed up at the building at 9:40 p.m. and confronted the killer, identified by the Hartford Courant as John Louis Lynn, 41.
Lynn, cops said, then put the child on the ground and blew his brains out.
The paper identified the dead women as Brittany Mills, 28, and her cousins, Kamesha Mills, 23, and Artara Benson, 46. All had been shot in the head.
Lynn had been involved in a child-support dispute with Brittany, the paper said.
Police said a cop fired at the man, but missed. The child was not harmed.
“The officers’ quick response to the scene prevented the suspect from being able to flee with the child and likely saved the child’s life,” said police Capt. Christopher Davis.
