LI tot killed in choke tragedy

A tragic toddler alone in the living room of her home on Long Island choked to death on an electrical cord yesterday, authorities said.

Family members found Malana Ingram, 2, tangled in the power cord of the air conditioner at 12:50 p.m.

The family told law-enforcement authorities the toddler was alone for no more than a few minutes before the accident happened.

Police responded to a 911 call from the Greenlawn home and took over from family members who had frantically been administering CPR.

Ingram was rushed to Huntington Hospital where she died.

The Suffolk Coutny Police Homicide Squad is investigating.
