Cooper ‘stalker’ wants protection

The loud-mouthed loon accused of stalking CNN anchor Anderson Cooper and his partner asked a Manhattan judge for jailhouse protection Tuesday during a brief court appearance.

“Can I be put in protective custody?” blurted out Alex Hausner, wearing the same gray plaid shirt he wore to Manhattan Supreme Court last week. “I’m getting threats.”

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon agreed.

Then Hausner interrupted him again to try to explain the reasons for his bizarre behavior aimed at Cooper.

“Everyone has a right to testify,” Solomon said patiently. “[But] I don’t want to hear your story right now.”

Prosecutors told Solomon they’re challenging the findings of two court doctors who determined that the former Queens psychiatric patient is mentally unfit for trial.

The obsessed 38-year-old is accused of making unwelcome phone calls and visits to the silver-haired anchor at his work and home since 2008.

He also threatened Cooper’s live-in boyfriend – East Village bar owner Benjamin Maisani – who he called a “thug” and “scoundrel.”

Hausner told cops that Maisani was jealous of his budding romance with the blue-eyed CNN reporter.

Most recently, Hausner showed up at Cooper’s converted firehouse and kicked the red lacquered front door repeatedly yelling. “I swear to f—king God, don’t insult me,” he shouted. “I’m going to f—k you up!”

Cooper and Maisani have restraining orders against the deluded yapper who’s charged with felony menacing, stalking and harassment.
