Casey Anthony took New York trip after acquittal: lawyer

The “most hated woman in America” was right under our noses.

Casey Anthony stayed in New York in 2011 just after she was acquitted of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee, according to a book by her ex-lawyer.

“While the entire national media was searching for her in Arizona and California, she was within walking distance of all their offices,” Anthony lawyer José Baez says in his tell-all “Presumed Guilty.”

Baez began a series of elaborate plans to keep Anthony out of the media spotlight, starting with her release on July 17.

That night, Baez arranged for five cars to meet up at a multilevel garage — four decoys sped off in different directions.

Flying commercial was too risky, so Baez had one of his investigators drive Casey to New York.

There are no details about Anthony’s Big Apple trip and repeated requests for comment went unanswered by Baez’s publicist.

Anthony is now hiding out in an unknown location in Florida. Her probation — for an unrelated conviction for check fraud — is up on Aug. 21.
