A Bronx schoolteacher was formally charged yesterday with killing her 5-year-old son and 4-month-old daughter in a botched murder-suicide plot meant to punish her NYPD-cop husband for supposedly having had an affair.
Lisette Bamenga, 29, faces two counts of first-degree murder for allegedly feeding juice spiked with a chemical de-icer to little Trevor Noel Jr. and his baby sister, Lillian, Thursday night.
She then allegedly sealed all of the windows and doors in the family’s Parkchester apartment, slit her wrists and turned on the gas. As it turned out, her wounds were not deep enough to kill herself.
Bamenga, a French immigrant, taught at a Bronx school, and later at PS 58 in Brooklyn. Her suicide note told her 31-year-old husband, who’s with Manhattan’s 28th Precinct, that she and the kids were off to “a better place.”
