Knicks’ J.R. caught untying rival’s shoe

J.R. Smith has been known to tie one on.

Now, he could be in trouble for untying one.

Dallas TV cameras caught Smith untying Shawn Marion’s sneaker during the Knicks’ 92-80 win over the Mavericks on Sunday night.

Standing next to Marion during a Dirk Nowitzki free-throw attempt, Smith — who admitted to not knowing the score when he threw up a boneheaded 3-pointer late in Friday night’s loss to the Rockets — leaned over and grabbed the end of his shorts with both hands and then slyly reached down with one hand to grab Marion’s laces.

Marion appeared to notice Smith’s prank, but played on as if nothing happened. At the next stoppage, he kneeled down to re-tie his sneakers.

Because of his history, Smith could face discipline from the league.

Smith finished with seven points on 3-of-8 shooting.
