QNS. MAN SHOOTS INTRUDER

A feisty Queens man shot and injured one of two gun-toting bandits who pushed their way into his home and tried to force him to join their drug-selling ring, cops said.

Police said Everton Byfrieald, 31, and Mathew Dalton, 22, armed with a 9mm handgun and a .357 magnum barged into the Ozone Park home of Horace Dyer, 25, at 7:13 p.m. yesterday.

They tried to coax him to sell narcotics for them but when he refused, cops say Byfrieald put him in a choke-hold as they tried to rob him, police said.

“Apparently they were trying to get him to do something he did not want to do,” said Det. Leonard Devlin.

Dyer began struggling, seized the 9mm and fired twice. Byfrieald was hit once at his leg. Both men fled.

When Dalton later showed up at Mary Immaculate Hospital with a wounded Byfrieald, hospital authorities called cops.

Dyer, was brought to the hospital to identify the two suspects. Both were placed under arrest and charged with robbery and weapons possession. The 9mm handgun was recovered.
