Oprah Winfrey is shutting down her film company.
Harpo Films, which made the the 2007 Denzel Washington movie “The Great Debaters” as well as a string of TV movies including “Their Eyes Were Watching God” and “Tuesdays With Morrie,” has not had a major project since 2007.
Oprah’s Harpo Studios — whose main client is the talk-show queen’s cable channel, OWN — is said to be taking over for the film company.
Kate Forte, who had headed Oprah’s film arm for 18 years, is leaving the company, according to reports.
