Armed suspect shot by cop in Brooklyn arrested, charged with weapon possession

The armed man who cops shot in Brooklyn after he turned his gun on officers was charged with weapon possession, police said.

A sergeant and three officers spotted Alexis McIntyre, 31, peering out the window of a Glenmore Avenue apartment building about 5:45 p.m. yesterday after receiving a tip that an armed man was staying there illegally, cops said.

A fourth cop, who went to the back of the location, saw McIntyre exit a rear door with a 38-caliber revolver, police said.

When the officer told McIntyre to drop the weapon, police say he didn’t, and the officer shot him once in the torso, cops said.

The suspect was taken to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition. The gun was recovered at the scene, and the officer who fired was taken for observation at North Shore Hospital.

McIntyre, who lives in Williamsburg, was charged with criminal possession of a loaded firearm.
