The Post’s deputy fashion editor says: The fantastical sensibility of this sophisticated bohemian trend means nothing is ever too much, and you can mix and match to your heart’s desire. Pairing this embroidered vest with a tinsel-trimmed skirt and an on-trend gladiator heel makes for a modern-day fairy look that is perfect for those long, lazy warm-weather days—especially when anchored by a neutral color. (I’m a sucker for anything in a blush tone) Add a flower crown for that final touch of whimsy.

Vest, $2,670, and heels, $955, both at Isabel Marant, 469 Broome St.

The Post’s fashion market specialist says: Maybe in my next life I’ll be lucky enough to actually live the life of a gypsy jet-setter, but until then, I’m going to dress the part starting with this outfit. When I saw this matching sequin-tank-and-shorts set at the Cynthia Rowley spring presentation, it went to the top of my wish list. It’s an unexpected mix of sporty and exotic, perfect for my actual lifestyle — which requires looking put together while staying comfortable running around the city.

Paying homage to Kurt Cobain—grunge’s angeliclooking bad boy—designers revisited the ’90s and updated its dirty look with a bit of polish. Case in point: 3.1 Phillip Lim’s “I Heart Nueva York” T-shirt. Embellished with flower-shaped crystals and sheer sleeves, Lim proved that going for grunge can be done with a (dare I say) pretty twist. Paired with a flannel tied around the waist, a slouchy pastel backpack and a serious case of bed hair, this look perfectly channels my aesthetic: a downtown grunge-girl with a penchant for all things romantic.
On Anahita: Flannel shirt, $34.95 at H&M, 1328 Broadway
* Embellished T-shirt, $350 at 3.1 Phillip Lim, 115 Mercer St. * J Brand skirt, $395 at Bergdorf Goodman, 754 Fifth Ave. * “Erin” boots, $725, and “Marti” backpack, $895, similar styles available at Alexander Wang, 103 Grand St. * Double ring, $20 at Topshop, 478 Broadway

Ah grunge, the trend that people probably thought would never come back, and some didn’t want it to. But this time around, designers are adding sparkly embellishments and luxurious fabrics to the youth-driven style. It all adds up to a somewhat more grown-up look — and this Dries Van Noten top (with a metallic-thread front and plaid back) paired with slouchy jeans, heels and a Swarovski crystal necklace is a spot-on example of just that.
On Johannah: Dries Van Noten top, $670 at Bergdorf Goodman

$718, both at Henri Bendel, 712 Fifth Ave.

It seems ironic to reference the past in order to be fashion-forward, but when a moment as fun as the mod era is in vogue, you go for it. Black, white and graphic all over, the spring runways made it clear that it’s time to work your inner Twiggy. The stripes and micro-mini shorts of this look stay true to the era (so does the Brigitte Bardot-inspired beehive), while the cap-sleeve and peplum propels this look into 2013. And the bubblequote clutch? It speaks for itself.
On Anahita: Top, $1,160, and shorts, $975, both at katieermilio.com * Heels, $1,065 at Fendi, 677 Fifth Ave. * Jennifer Behr headband and
Kenneth Jay Lane ring, $128 each at Henri Bendel * Sophia Webster clutch, $450 at net-a-porter.com

The spring runways were proof that this season is going to be a mod, mod world, with designers from Marc Jacobs to Moschino covering the trend with over-the-top swinging styles from head to toe. This embellished number from Milly looks like it came straight off a ’60s go-go dance floor. By adding fun striped accessories, a high ponytail and lots of eyeliner, I’m ready for a night on the town— dancing required!
On Johannah: Milly “Jolie” dress, $640 at net-a-porter.com * Heels, $79.90, and clutch, $35.90, both at Zara, 101 Fifth Ave. * Bracelet, $395 at Miu Miu, 11 E. 57th St.
