Pundit vote: Hillary will run for prez

WASHINGTON — The “will she or won’t she run for president” speculation on former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton ran rampant yesterday with most political pundits saying she will be a candidate in 2016.

“She’s obviously running,” blogger Arianna Huffington said on ABC’s “This Week.”

Republican strategist Mark Murphy agreed on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“I’m getting a horselaugh out of all the speculations,” Murphy said. “So, like, do you think Dillinger might rob a bank? Yeah, I think she’s going to run.”

The former first lady fueled the predictions last week with her first two public speeches since stepping down from the Obama administration in February. She also inked a new book deal last week.

“I think the odds of her running are about 100 percent to zero,” former Democratic New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, who ran against Clinton in the 2008 presidential primary, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Huffington said Clinton should have spent more time resting.

“I think that’s sending a bad message to women, that the only way to succeed . . . is to drive yourself into the ground.”
