Now hear this! Your cellphone is as dirty as a toilet seat – even the bottom of your shoe.
That’s the word from microbiologists who are warning mobile phone users that the combination of constant handling and the heat generated by the phone can cause pimples and boils, even meningitis and pneumonia. The bacteria thrives under these conditions because the cellphone contains more skin bacteria than any other object.
“They come into contact with more parts of the body and a wider range of bacteria than toilet seats,” said professor Joanna Verran.
