BINGHAMTON KILLER’S PARENTS BARE ANGUISH

The parents of the crazed gunman who killed 13 people and himself in upstate Binghamton said their son started cracking 19 years ago.

Henry Wong, 66, and Mui Thong, 61, said they’re wracked by guilt over their son Jiverly Wong, who opened fire on immigrants and teachers inside the American Civic Association on April 3.

“All parents raise their children to be good human beings,” Henry told The Post-Standard of Syracuse, in an interview published yesterday.

“You never imagine in your wildest dreams that they would end up doing something so horrific.”

The dad recalled Jiverly Wong’s odd behavior 19 years ago, when his son complained someone was trying to kill him.

Henry claimed his son was yelling, “They’re in front of me and trying to capture me!” — while pointing at thin air.

He said he took Jiverly to a hospital, but doctors sent him home.

Just before the massacre, Jiverly “avoided being in the house at the same time with me,” Henry said in Vietnamese.

“At first, I thought maybe he was mad about something and was planning to ask him. This tragedy occurred before I even had a chance to ask him.”

The parents said they wanted to apologize for their son’s actions.

“I thank members of the community who have been so kind and understanding,” Henry said.

“Still, I am very worried about possible retaliation from some folds. We’re just two old parents who had no control over their 41-year- old son’s actions. We ask everyone to forgive us for having such a son.”
