ANCHOR DROPS CH. 41

VETERAN Ch. 41 anchor Denisse Oller is leaving the Univision station after a 20-year run.

Oller, who co-anchored the 6 and 11 p.m. “Noticias 41” newscasts, alerted station management of her decision on Thursday – the first night of the important November sweeps period.

She signed off on last night’s 6 p.m. newscast.

“It’s very amicable,” Oller told The Post yesterday. “I was thinking about this for the longest time.”

Oller has worked for both Univision and competitor Telemundo since 1986 on both the national and local levels. She spent the last 10 years at Univision.

“I’m leaving to pursue new ventures combining my two great passions – journalism and cooking,” she said.

Oller said she’s creating “a multi-media company” that will include Internet, TV, print and radio components.

She also said she’ll be writing a book “about my adventures the last few years and what led me here.

“I’ll be returning to TV in another facet,” she said. “I just can’t talk too much about it right now.”

Insiders say the timing and suddenness of Oller’s announcement caught Ch. 41 officials by surprise.

“We wish her well,” Ch. 41 GM Ramon Pineda said through a spokesman. “She’s highly thought of here. We have big shoes to fill.”

Rafael Pineda, will anchor both newscasts solo for the time being, a station spokesman said.
