MEMBERS ONLY GOING TO ‘CHIC’

Kelli Delaney, a former fashion and celebrity magazine editor, has turned her eye to the design world.

With the backing of sportswear and jeans guru Arnold Simon, they’re trying to reinvent Members Only – which soared as an iconic menswear brand in the ’80s – and expand it into a luxury women’s line of soft leather and nylon jackets and knit dresses.

“My goal is to introduce a chic, covetable reinvention of the brand to a new group of younger, more modern, style-conscious consumers and show them how the brand can fit into their lives and closets,” said Delaney.

Delaney, most recently the editor in chief of Celebrity Weekly and who earlier worked at Allure, Glamour, Us Weekly and Star, said the transition from print to fashion was surprisingly easy.

“The 10 years of experience I have as a fashion editor at Condé Nast has proven invaluable in terms of knowing exactly what I wanted to produce and what I feel women will want to wear,” said Delaney.
