WASHINGTON — House lawmakers yesterday lit into an IRS commissioner who played Mr. Spock in a $50,000 agency “Star Trek” video.
The committee bashed Faris Fink over a $4.1 million 2010 California training conference. Fink apologized for the video, calling it “embarrassing.”
Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-Manhattan) said not only was the footage a colossal waste of money, but the employee actors were bad.
“It’s an insult to the memory of ‘Star Trek,’ ” Maloney said. “I could’ve done a better Captain Kirk.”
