A father of seven on a bicycle was fatally struck by a Long Island Rail Road train yesterday, officials and relatives said.
Miguel Angel Reyes, 46, of Center Moriches, was hit by a westbound train just after 10 a.m., an MTA spokeswoman said.
Witnesses said Reyes, whose family resides in his native Guatemala, may have ridden the bike past the crossing gate and fallen, officials and a relative said.
Tests showed the crossing gate was functioning properly.
