DON IMUS ANNOUNCES HE HAS CANCER

Controversial radio host Don Imus announced on his radio show this morning that he is battling stage II prostate cancer.

Imus, 68, known for his outspoken opinions on everything from politics to sports, offered no details on his prognosis, but added that he had full confidence “his doctors will beat it.”

“The day you find out is fine,” Imus said. “But the next morning when you get up, your knees are shaking. I didn’t think I could make it to work.”

He speculated that the cancer could be a result of stress.

Best known for a 2007 scandal that ensued after he referred to the championship-winning Rutger’s women’s basketball team as “nappy-headed hos,” Imus lost his job with CBS, but was picked up by ABC later that year.
