CONEY CIRCUS TALKS

The world-famous Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus is looking to pitch its big top in Coney Island this summer.

City officials said they’re trying to iron out an agreement to bring the “Greatest Show on Earth” to a site off the area’s fabled boardwalk after negotiations between Ringling and Joe Sitt, the amusement district’s biggest landowner, fell apart two weeks ago.

Ringling is now negotiating to bring the circus to a less active area near West 22nd Street, owned by Taconic Investment Partners.

The circus wanted to play at now-shuttered Astroland, but officials contend that Sitt insisted that his company, Thor Equities, be allowed to offer competing food concessions.
