HUDSON’S SECRETIVE ‘IDOL’ TAPE

JENNIFER Hudson is quietly taping her return to “Ameri can Idol” after tomorrow night’s show is off the air.

After the lights go down on Wednesday’s results show, the in-house audience will be treated to an intimate performance by the 27-year-old Oscar winner.

The performance will then be shown on an unspecified future show.

It will be the first time Hudson who finished seventh in 2004’s competition but went on to become the biggest “Idol” star ever has been back to the show since the murders of her mother, brother and nephew last October.

Fox won’t officially confirm Hudson’s appearance, but the ticket voucher for the show states that “the second taping of Wednesday is the LIVE performance show with special performances by Jennifer Hudson and Ruben Studdard,” according to mjsbigblog.com.

Studdard is a confirmed guest.

Hudson is expected to take the stage to sing one of the songs off of her self-titled debut album, which won the Grammy for Best R&B Album last month.

On Thursday, Hudson will be a guest on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” performing her single, “If This Isn’t Love,” live.

Hudson’s high-profile appearances are the lead up to the March 31 kick-off of her national tour with R&B singer Robin Thicke. The tour stops at the WaMu Theatre at MSG on April 10.

Hudson told Oprah last month that she’s “just glad to be back and be back to work again. Just doing what I love to do is like therapy.”
