SHARK FILM HAS WRITER BITING MAD

Bite me.

That’s what a Manhattan shark expert has to say about a B movie that portrays a gigantic prehistoric shark terrorizing a modern-day village — while using his celebrated book on great whites to set the stage.

Renowned marine conservationist Richard Ellis claims the filmmakers shot a scene in which his 1991 bestseller, “Great White Shark,” was used to prove the long-extinct, 60-foot-long C. Megalodon shark still exists.

The producers of the offending 2002 flick, “Shark Attack 3: Megalodon,” created fake pages for Ellis’ book that say C. Megalodon could still be around, even though it died out a million years ago, according to a federal suit filed in Manhattan against distributor Lions Gate Entertainment.

Ellis is afraid that his fellow New Yorkers and anyone else who views the movie will fall for it hook, line and sinker.

He’s asking for a halt to the film’s distribution, along with $150,000 in damages.
