Qns. priest found dead in pool

A Queens Catholic priest was found lifeless at the bottom of a pool at his Long Island home, officials said yesterday.

The Rev. Gerald Langelier, 78, was fished out of the water by Southold authorities who rushed to his Maple Lane home at about 5 p.m. Friday.

The monsignor, who served Our Lady of Mercy Church in Forest Hills for more than three decades, was rushed to Eastern Long Island Hospital, where medics were unable to revive him.

An Our Lady of Mercy official confirmed the church will host the funeral.

“All the arrangements have been made,” said the woman, who requested anonymity. She added that Langelier was “very well liked.”
