Starr suit vs. Scorsese

Legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese yesterday was sued for allegedly owing nearly $600,000 in unpaid fees — to jailed money manager Kenneth Starr.

The action was filed by the court-appointed receiver who was put in charge of Starr’s business after he was busted for allegedly running a $59 million Ponzi scheme on his celebrity clients.

The Manhattan state Supreme Court filing says Scorsese agreed to pay Starr 5 percent of his income for “accounting, bookkeeping, tax and other personal management services.”

But the famed director of such classics as “Goodfellas” and “Raging Bull” allegedly reneged on the deal after his account manager, Arnie Herrman, quit Starr’s firm in January and took Scorsese’s “lucrative personal management business with him to another firm.”

A rep for Scorsese said the director’s production company “has paid substantial fees to his former business manager’s firm, and if it has been determined that there is anything still outstanding, it will be rectified.”
