Cops save woman floating in East River

Two cops in wet suits pulled a nude 49-year-old woman from the East River today in a rescue captured on a dramatic police video.

About 3:30 p.m. officers at Manhattan’s Elizabeth Street stationhouse were told that the woman was floating underneath the Manhattan Bridge, authorities said.

She was spotting lying motionless, face up, in the water.

Detectives James Coll and Frank Stevens of the Emergency Service Unit were lowered into the water, attached by lines to the shore.

They swam about 30 feet from the shore line and, with one officer on each side, secured her and brought her aboard an NYPD Harbor Launch boat.

The woman, believed to be Asian and 49 years old, was taken to Bellevue Hospital and listed in stable condition. She had suffered no visible injuries, authorities said.
