‘30 Rock’ star Tracy Morgan recovering after kidney transplant

“30 Rock” actor Tracy Morgan is recovering after undergoing a kidney transplant, Entertainment Weekly reported Monday.

The comedian, who was diagnosed with diabetes in 1996, had the surgery earlier in December.

“Tracy is doing well and taking some much needed time to recover after the surgery. He is looking forward to going back to work after the holidays,” his rep said in a statement.

Morgan, 42, was spotted at a New York Knicks game December 17 but will reportedly take it easy to ensure a full recovery. He will be absent from two or three future “30 Rock” episodes, which writers will attribute to a “meltdown because of a good thing that’s happened to him,” the entertainment magazine reported.

The Brooklyn native is the second cast member from the hit TV show to have a kidney transplant.

Actor Grizz Chapman, who plays Morgan’s security guard on the NBC program, had a transplant this summer.
