The Jets backed up Rex Ryan with a brief statement after the head coach was bombarded with questions about foot-fetish videos.
“(Owner) Woody Johnson and I have met with Rex,” general manager Mike Tannenbaum said in the statement. “This is a personal matter, and he has our full support.”
This came a day after a series of bizarre foot-fetish videos were made widely available featuring a woman who looks like the wife of Ryan. The coach refused to answer any questions about the controversy and called it a “personal issue” during his press conference Wednesday.
When Ryan was asked if he expected the support of the organization he pointed to the Jets’ 10-4 record this season.
