Person detained outside Dallas home of George W. Bush

A person was detained outside the Dallas home of former US President George W. Bush on Wednesday, CBS DFW reported.

The suspect was sighted in the evening driving a muscle car — or high performance vehicle — erratically in the quiet neighborhood of Preston Hollow.

Thirteen Dallas Police Department squad cars responded and were at the scene by 8:15pm. Secret Service agents and K9 units were also at the property.

A truck was called to the scene to take away the suspect’s car.

Bush was at home at the time and was unharmed.

“President and Mrs. Bush are OK. They appreciate the work of the United States Secret Service and Dallas Police Department in responding to the incident,” Bush spokesman David Sherzer said in a statement.

Dallas Police spokesman Warren C. Mitchell said in a statement Bush was never at risk, Fox News Channel reported.

“I have been informed by Secret Service that the situation is still under investigation, but that there was no perceived threat to former President Bush,” he said.
