Wrestler, 29, loses ‘heart failure’ bout

A 29-year-old former pro wrestler died yesterday from what his family described as heart failure, according to the World Wrestling Entertainment Web site.

Lance McNaught, who wrestled under the stage name “Lance Cade,” died in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner said it would take eight to 12 weeks to determine a cause of death.

His father told the WWE that his son — who had spoken publicly about his battles with pain killers and sleeping pills addictions — died of heart failure.

McNaught was under contract with the WWE from 2003 to 2008.

McNaught was signed again with their developmental division, the WWE equivalent of the minor leagues, in September of 2009. He was let go form the WWE earlier this year after doing a stint in rehab.
