Olbermann Web of silence

Keith Olbermann, who has virtually gone underground since Friday night when his cable TV show abruptly ended, changed his Twitter page over the weekend — leaving the ominous message: “W A T C H ______________ T H I S __________S P A C E.”

Dropped was any mention of MSNBC as well as his now-disconnected email address at the old cable show.

The only thing he has left to plug is his sports blog on MLB.com, called Baseball Nerd.

His Twitter site now says that his blog “returns 2/14.”

Olbermann, who had been a Twitter abuser (posting 20 to 30 times a day) since he was introduced to the shorthand media site just nine months ago, has suddenly gone silent on the Internet.

Under the terms of his departure from MSNBC, he is prohibited from discussing his final days at the cable news network. In exchange, MSNBC will continue to pay his $7-million-a-year salary through the fall.

The agreement also appears to keep him off the Internet until the middle of next month.

Olbermann has been writing the baseball blog, a mix of nostalgia and baseball trivia, for several years.
