Chop vic loved to fly toys

The toy-helicopter buff fatally scalped by his chopper “died doing what he loved,” his heartbroken father said Friday.

“It’s a complete passion,” Roman Pirozek Jr.’s father, Roman Sr., said of his 19-year-old son’s hobby of flying the model whirlybirds.

The blades of the high-powered 6-pound, remote-control chopper took off a “good chunk” of his head, officials said.

He was flying the model helicopter at Calvert Vaux Park in Brooklyn, near Coney Island — a popular spot for airborne-model aficionados.

The outing took a horrific turn when Roman Jr. attempted a stunt and the rotors spun out of control.

“He was a great pilot and a great friend to everyone,” Roman Sr. said.

Roman Sr. founded the Brooklyn Seaview Rotary Wings Club 30 years ago that Roman Jr. helmed as vice president until his tragic death.

“It’s a popular hobby but there’s only a certain amount of people that do it because it is a very expensive hobby and it is a little bit dangerous, as you can see,” Roman Sr. said.
