‘American Idol’ star Adam Lambert to release acoustic EP: report

“American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert will release an acoustic EP on Dec. 6, Billboard reported Tuesday.

“Acoustic Live!” will feature acoustic versions of four songs that originally appeared on Lambert’s debut album, “For Your Entertainment,” and a cover of the 1982 Tears for Fears hit “Mad World,” which the singer performed on “American Idol” when he was a contestant in 2009.

The EP will primarily be a digital release, but a limited number of physical copies will be available through Lambert’s official website.

Lambert said the tracks for the EP were recorded during tour stops and promotional appearances. He said material is being “theorized” for the full-length follow-up to “For Your Entertainment.”

“I have things that I’m writing down, little notes that I’m writing here and there, but nothing’s started yet on it,” Lambert said. “But hopefully it’ll be out by the spring or summer of next year.”
