SI toddler found dead, beaten repeatedly cops say

A Staten Island 2-year-old beaten over and over again in his short and tragic life died in the care of his father’s girlfriend, who faces child endangering charges, authorities said today.

Josiah Taylor was found dead around 1 p.m. Tuesday at 345 Mosel Ave. in Concord.

He’d been left in the care of Cynthia DuBoise, 18. She has been accused of child endangering, and may face additional charges.

DuBoise called 911 to report that Josiah was unconscious. Cops arrived and rushed the little boy to Staten Island Hospital, where he was declared dead.

Josiah’s father is also being questioned, said officers. His name has not been released.

An autopsy found that Josiah died of battered-child syndrome, and showed signs of having been repeatedly beaten.

“The injuries were in various stages of healing and the injuries occurred over a period of time,” said a spokesperson for the Medical Examiner.
