Long Island man stabbed during argument

FREEPORT, N.Y. — A 47-year-old Queens man is under arrest for allegedly stabbing another man during an argument.

Police say Rolando Hernandez, of Queens, allegedly stabbed the victim twice in the lower back on a street in Freeport, on Long Island.

Police say the two men did not know each other but had gotten into a verbal argument on Southside Avenue.

The suspect was arrested and charged with assault and possession of a dangerous weapon. He was to be arraigned Wednesday. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had a lawyer.

The weapon was not recovered.

The 32-year-old victim was being treated at a local hospital.
