Student charged with bringing gun to school

PARAMUS, N.J. — Police have arrested a student on weapons charges after they say he brought an unloaded gun to his high school.

Staff at Windsor Preparatory High School in Paramus noticed the 17-year-old from Newark was acting suspiciously on Tuesday.

The Record newspaper reports Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said in a statement that the staff confronted the boy and he admitted carrying a .22-caliber revolver.

Police don’t know why the student was carrying the gun or where he got it from.

His name has not been released because of his age.
